SMALL BEGINNINGS

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” - Zechariah 4:10 NLT

The Dream

In 2004, Jordan and Melissa Gash moved to Oswego, Illinois with a dream in their hearts to start a new church that would one day become a place where people would hear and experience the life-changing message of Jesus. They didn’t know anyone in the area at the time, but after much prayer, they were convinced that planting a new church was what they were supposed to do. In November that year, they started meeting every Sunday morning, holding services with a small group in a rented school facility.

Our Story.

Early Days

In the fall of 2006, the church moved into it’s first building on route 34 in Oswego. In the fall of 2012, the church more than doubled in weekly attendance and the lower level of their Oswego facility was converted into additional children’s church space. Then, in the fall of 2013, the church acquired the building next to them, transforming it into additional classrooms and ministry space. Following the renovation, in the spring of 2014 the church began holding multiple Sunday morning services in order to accommodate their continued growth.

A HOME OF OUR OWN

"And I will provide a place for my people and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own..." - 2 Samuel 7:10

A Restoration Story

In September of 2017, the church purchased 34 acres of land in Yorkville, IL and introduced the Beyond Boundaries Project, a land purchase and building project. There was an existing building on the property that had been abandoned and unused for over a decade. Construction to restore and renovate the building began in the Spring of 2018 and on April 7, 2019, Restore Church officially launched at their new Yorkville location.

Due to the church's growth, construction began on a new building addition along with a parking lot expansion in the Spring of 2022 and the project was completed in the summer of 2023. The new building officially opened on September 10, 2023 giving Restore Church more than twice the square footage with much needed space for children’s and youth ministries.

The dream that God put in Jordan and Melissa's hearts 20 years ago has been coming to pass by the grace of God. Since that time, their vision has grown bigger and their desire to spread the life-giving message of Jesus has only grown stronger. They’re grateful to God for all of the good things that have taken place since the church began and they truly believe that what they have seen so far is only the beginning of what God has in store!
